TOPIC: THE SAME MEASURE
TEXT: MATTHEW 7:2
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and *with the measure you use* , it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”
Over the years, I noticed something with believers in Christ as they increased in year.
In their early years, they read the word, hold before their face to check and correct themselves.
But as soon as they begin to take responsibility in any local assembly, everything changes.
They flip the mirror the other way. When they read the Bible, they see what that brother did yesterday in it. They see what that sister said, which wasn’t good enough.
Even as you read this now, you are beginning to think this is talking to someone who said something to you.
No, the Holy Ghost is talking to you, not them.
Let me tell you that, if the last time you saw your lapses and really acknowledged it was 20 years ago, that was the last time you improved.
Every improvement is always because we see clearly our own lapses.
I have met a few people who ‘have never been wrong’
Even if they apologized, it was just to save their face, because the complaints from people too much.
This morning, the Holy Ghost whispered, “THE SAME MEASURE.”
Beware if you have been called to teach. Make sure the word is changing you or has changed you in the past.
“My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.”
James 3:1
“And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was.” Hebrew 5:4
The first thing God taught me in the school of the Spirit is the ability to see from the word of God and through my interactions with people things that I needed to change or improve upon.
Do not think you are smart even if you sound so spiritual or appear so strong, but you will realize that some things will keep hindering you until you humble yourself and acknowledge your lapses and correct them.
“Do not be overrighteous, neither be overwise— why destroy yourself?”
Ecclesiastics 7:16
Excuse me, before you start to think God is talking to that brother or sister, I just want to let you know ITS YOU GOD IS TALKING TO.
“And when He had spoken this, He said to Peter, “Follow Me!”
Peter, turning around , saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them; the one who also had leaned back on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?”
Peter, therefore, seeing him, said to Jesus, “Lord, and what about this man*?”
Jesus said to him, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!”
Stop turning around to others, locking for who to use your knowledge to criticise. Just follow the word.
There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, yet it is not washed from its filthiness. Proverbs 30:12
“You, therefore, who teach someone else, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that one is not to steal, do you steal?
You who say that one is not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery?”
Romans 2:21,22
We all need to repent and return back to the Bible.
Because you may not be a preacher, but every measure you, it shall be used for you.
This calls for humility to keep everyone checked.
Prayer/confession: Heavenly Father am sorry for being judgemental without even knowing. I submit my conscience to the authority of your word to change me from within, even as I acknowledge my mistakes when revealed through the scripture, by the conviction of the Holy Spirit and through my interactions with my fellow human being. Thank you
Prophetic: I prophesy to you today, that you will no longer be jobless. Things that were taken away from you are restored back to you quickly and in multiple fold. Congratulations ?
