TOPIC: GOD IS LIGHT (PART ONE)
TEXT: 1 John 1:5
“This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you that
God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.”
Light is what enables you to see.
One of the ways to acknowledge God as your Lord is to let Him give you light.
Ears that hear and eyes that see— the LORD has made them both.
proverbs 20:12
” Christ will give you light.”Ephesians 5:14
The reason is because the person who walks in darkness and the one who closes his or her eyes in light are seeing the same thing(darkness)
God gave you the eyes, but if you decide to use your eyes(spiritually, mentally, or physically) to see your own way, then you have created another god for yourself.
Why did I say this?
The Bible says,
” The light of the body is the eye.”Mathew 6:22
It means you can decide to make another god apart from The Almighty God the god over your body because you have chosen to see your own way and not God’s way.
“If you were blind, you wouldn’t be guilty,” Jesus replied. “But you remain guilty because you claim you can see .” John 9:41
There are Christians that are so knowledgeable, and they can’t even see what’s wrong with them again.
Ask God to always show you who you are and you will realize your criticism of others will reduce.
Those who see the true light will see themselves. Isaiah saw himself when he saw God.
This is one of my favorite scriptures. Jesus says,
“I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
I do not know any shortcuts to ending well than to keep following.
I do not know many mountains where God may be found than to keep following Christ. He is The true light.
” He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8
Prayer/confession: Lord you are my guiding light. With you by my side, I will never fall.
Prophetic: when Haggar and her son ran out of bread ? and water ? in the dessert, the Lord opened her eyes and she saw in the same place she sat a well. I prophesy that in the same place where you least expected, your answers are coming out. And they are very close by you.
