An average human spends 1tenth of his life sleeping. So if you live up to 70 years, it’s important to know that you would have spent 25 years of your life sleeping (if you were sleeping 8 hours per day).
But the problem is that an average believer doesn’t know why he sleeps. He sleeps tired and wakes up tired. So what is the point of spending hours sleeping?
Remember a day is coming when you will give account to God on how you spent your life on earth. Would you tell him “I slept for 25 years, spent 18 years in school, and five years eating?” What do you think God will say?
When you sleep, God sees that moment as an opportunity to relate and interact with your spirit. It’s your flesh that sleeps/rests, your spirit doesn’t sleep. So, sleeping is like taking a journey into your future.
It is this understanding that will always make you go to sleep with a note and a pen( as an act of faith) for God to speak to you or to receive instruction or a revelation.
Lord, I receive the grace to begin to take my dreams and vision seriously.
