TOPIC: SIGN OF PROGRESS
TEXT: 2 Cor 5:17
“…old things are passed away ; behold, all things are become new”
Motion is not a sign of promotion!
Movement is not a sign of progress!
When The Lord came few minutes to 5am and brought today’s message, I knew immediately what He was saying!
You see, when you drive so fast on the highway, it appears the vegetation moves backward!
No, they don’t! Your forward movement causes everything static to look like they are moving backward.
You don’t need to move backward before you are tagged backslider in the realms of The Spirit!
Once you are indifferent to what God is doing, you are already moving backward.
The Bible calls some BACKSLIDER IN HEART!
“The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways” Proverbs 14:14
” His own way”
All Scripture is PROFITABLE FOR REPROVE, CORRECTION, INSTRUCTION…and many!
How can you profit when you have removed reprove or corrections?
Take for example, if you insert 3 brand new batteries in a radio instead of 4, the radio still will not power on.
When was the last time the word of God REPROVED and CORRECTED you?
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine , for *reproof* , for correction , for instruction in righteousness”
2 Timothy 3:16
Do you think that the reason word of God had not been correcting you is because you are perfect?
It is because you are repeating the same class.
When we were in secondary school, we easily knew those who repeated classes. They will tell you where the teacher kept his textbook. They will even tell you if the teacher will be around or not.
They appear to know so much, but we who were new in the class still scored more than them during the exam.
The story looked like the one in the Bible when the sons of the prophet came to Elisha and said
“The company of the prophets at Jericho went up to Elisha and asked him, “Do you know that the LORD is going to take your master from you today?” “ Yes, I know,” he replied, “so be quiet.”
Elisha said, “be quite”
We don’t use spiritual gifts to substitute “being like Christ.”
Sometimes, what we are boastful about is what’s offensive in the Spirit!
He told the church in Revelation, ” Remember from where you have fallen ”
A church that had fallen but not aware at all.
Could there be something you need to repent of?
Move past those things that you have outgrown!
That is the sign of progress!
