TOPIC : GOD IS NOT SLACK CONCERNING HIS PROMISE
TEXT: 2 Cor 1:20
“All the promises of God in Him are yea and amen,”
We continue to go deeper in our daily devotion on God’s faithfulness to His promises and what is expected of us.
Because Jesus died on the cross, that justifies God to keep His promises of forgiving us as well as other promises.
God’s faithfulness is first to His son, whom He allowed to be crucified.
That’s why He says that even if we are unfaithful, He is faithful
If we confess our sin
He is faithful and just
“How will He not with Him(Jesus) freely give us all things?” Romans 8:32
Every free gift comes with instructions on how to receive it
If the federal government says she is giving out free turkey to every citizen for Easter season, there will be instructions on what to do in order to receive it.
What most Christians do is to think the free gifts of God contained in His promises will fall into their hands without doing anything.
God gave us Christ freely, and it cost God everything.
How did we receive the first gift of God, i.e., Christ
Romans 10:8-10
Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’b (that is, to bring Christ down)
“But what does it say? “ The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,”
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
This is how we fulfill our own part. God didn’t tell us to confess with our mouths and believe with our hearts because it makes sense.
It is simply our obedience to what He asks us to do that God uses to justify us.
The same way we receive the promise of Christ into our lives is the same way we receive other promises.
Colossians 2:6
“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him,
