John 11:41 – Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, ‘Father, I thank You that You have heard Me’.
Jesus exhibited a thankful attitude as He fulfilled His ministry here on earth.
He demonstrated the way to the Father’s heart, the means to walk in the miraculous.
When the disciples despaired of feeding a crowd of five thousand with seven loaves of bread and a few fish, Jesus stopped to give thanks before sharing it among the multitude.
Everyone ate, and seven baskets of leftovers were collected!
We often meet our lack with complaints and comparison:
“Why do they have so much when we have so little?”
Perhaps, if we offer up genuine gratitude for what He has given us, an all-sufficient God will bless us with more than enough!
When Jesus wept before the grave of His friend, Lazarus, He paused to thank God for listening.
Immediately afterwards, a dead man walked out of the tomb into the joyful arms of his sisters.
When we stand in front of an impossible situation, we can say with deep hope and trust:
“Father, I thank You.”
In spite of what the bystanders believe or the doubters do or the scorners say, we offer praise to the One Who has shown us great grace and glorious mercy in the hardest days of our lives.
JESUS IS LORD.
