.TOPIC: THE PROMISE

TEXT: ROMANS 4:20

“Yet, looking unto the promise of God, he wavered not through unbelief but waxed strong through faith, giving glory to God.”

The Holy Spirit always makes writing ✍️ the devotion very easy.

Because He knows what the needs of His children, He sometimes whispers to me what to write whenever it seems I ponder on what to write.

I do not know what I would ever do or accomplish on earth without Him. If the Holy Spirit is not involved, I am finished.

It is not enough just to write good devotion. It is expedient to let God rule through us by His word and His Spirit.

Today, He whispered, “THE PROMISE.”

When God wanted to show His ability in man and through man, He looked for a man called Abraham.

He decided to approach Abraham from the aspect of his disability.

He did this by giving Him a promise.

God didn’t ask Abraham to believe it was possible to give birth at that age.

God was simply asking Abraham to believe Him.

God developed intimacy with Abraham until he was called the friend of God.

God wanted his faith to be based on the bond of love ❤️ and friendship that existed between them.

Instead of Abraham fighting in His mind, whether it was possible to conceive or not, he shifted his faith to who God is and His character.

He assured Himself God could never lie. Abraham believed God, and it was credited unto him as righteousness.

God, being the personality called love ❤️ always wants our faith to have its origin in the fact that He loves us without any doubt.

Love that does not go beyond adversity is not agape.

God knows that our faith can not fail if its origin is in His love.

Galatians 5:16

but faith working through love.

When our faith is, therefore, being tested, it is our love that is being tested.

These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold —though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

1 Peter 1:7

I know some of you are going through attacks from the enemy. Stay strong because you have been predestinated to be victorious.

1 Peter 5:9

Stand firm against him(the devil), and be strong in your faith . Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.

Always remember that you are loved and that we all are in this journey together.

All the early Apostles that died for the gospel was not proof that God stopped loving; but it was proof they knew God and loved Him.

The proof of love is endurance and perseverance.

He who endures to the end shall be saved.

The Lord will surely visit you, and He will settle you.

God bless His word in your heart.
