TOPIC: MAKE YOURSELF CONTROLLABLE
TEXT: ROMANS 6:16
“whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey”
The Holy Spirit is saying to everyone ” Make yourself controllable first”
” How can the Spirit control you if you don’t make yourself controllable?
God can not control you if you don’t let Him control you.
For example, someone might ask, ” Lord! Why didn’t you stop me from stealing that money?”
God will tell you: “I stopped you from stealing that money when Jesus died for your sin and rose on the third day
But you didn’t put your memeber under my rulership.”
As long as you don’t believe what the word of God says that Christ had done, you will continue in your struggle with sin, Satan and the flesh(coordinator)
“Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?”
Romans 6:16
“Do not present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.”
Romans 6:13
The only part that controls every other parts is the tongue ????
“We all stumble in many ways. *If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to control his whole body.”
James 3:2
If God can trust your tongue, He can trust you
“but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing.” James 3:8
James 3:3-8
“When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go”
If you allow God to take over your tongue, He has taken over your entire life.
Isn’t it wonderful that the first thing that happened when we received baptism of the Holy Spirit is new tongue.
Stop speaking in tongues again if, with your tongue, you can cause division amongst God’s people!
Make yourself controllable. Make yourself accountable, and God will control you!
Let there be two or three people in your life that you can report yourself to whenever you sin against God.
