TOPIC: IT IS YOUR TURN
TEXT: PSALM 20:5
“May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.”
I went to a boarding school, and those memories are still fresh after 30 years.
Whenever we had a relay race interhouse sports competition, all eyes were always on the one who took the baton.
I could still imagine how we cheered up the runners ????♀️ ????♂️ just to ensure they win the trophy ???? for the entire house.
If the one who ‘took the 1st leg’ didn’t perform to expectations, the next tried as much as possible to make up for the time lost.
I have never seen the next runner complain or refuse to continue.
Every generation yet unborn are like clouds ⛅️ of witnesses, cheering you up not to give up because of them.
They are asking you to create an advantage over the disadvantages you inherit from the previous generation!
They are not expecting you to give up. They are waiting and putting their confidence in the legacy you will leave behind for them.
Through the Bible, we have about people leaving war behind, poverty, sinful habits, and even death for the generation, yet unborn!
Whatever the excuse, do everything to leave inheritance for your children and children’s children.
Abraham gave his children a lifestyle of Holiness and pronounced God’s blessing upon them.
It will interest you that Abraham’s material possessions were distributed to servants and not to his sons.
The inheritance that can not depreciate is good legacy and a good name.
God was so confident in Abraham that He knew Abraham would command his children after God.
After my earthly father went to be with the Lord, his landed property and houses were sold, but none was given to any of the children.
The money was distributed to ministries and just very little to his grandchildren.
Even though I didn’t receive money, when i was much younger, I sneaked into his room many times and took several books ???? of Charles Spurgeon, D.L MOODY, Charles G. FInney, John whesley, and many more.
Even though I didn’t understand most of those books far back then about 30 years ago, I knew he truly loved the Lord.
Today, you would hear of parents going to commit sin just to get money ???? to pay the school fee for their children or buy Christmas clothe for them.
Is that the inheritance that God said they should leave for them.
In the first place, those children are not yours! They belong to God and am sure He never sent you on such errand.
If those parents continue, it will be shocking that those children will eventually be in heaven and the children won’t even recognize those parents or their sacrifice.
Talk to you heavenly father about their needs. You started creating problems for yourself since you started calling them your children while praying to God.
I would rather have you say, ” Lord, the children you gave me.”
Psalm 127:3
” Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.”
They are gift and reward to you.
Todsy, my dad is no longer with me, but my heavenly dad is taking good care of me!
Other generations are waiting for you to be victorious! Refuse to bow to anything apart from God.
” And who will declare His Generation?” Isaiah 53:8
