TOPIC: THE YOKE
TEXT: LAMENTATION 3:27
“It is good for a man that he should bear The yoke [of godly discipline ] in his youth.”
There is a particular yoke that God approves. It is called ” THE YOKE ”
Yokes are primarily designed to confirm your decision and direction!
Nobody arrives anywhere(good or bad) without a yoke! Something took you to where you are today.
Take for example, If you want to marry the daughter of a billionaire, even though your would-be father-in-law plans to hand over his company to you, because you want to marry his daughter, he would only do so after the marriage is sealed!
Yoke reveals commitment!
In Mathew 11:29, Jesus said:
” Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.”
True humility it is not just about you saying ‘yes sir’ or ‘yes ma.’
True Humility is you and i submitting to the Authority of the word of God and making the word of God the reason for our actions and decisions in life.
Peter was so unstable that, with the 3 days when Jesus was in the grave, he had already gone back to his fishing ???? business. He even influenced others who were not fishermen ???? to follow him.
John 21:3
“Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.”
Jesus says I will build my church!
Be careful you are not tearing down what Christ is trying to build.
After the ressurection, Jesus met Peter and asked if he truly loved Him…
Then, Jesus went on and told Peter:
“but when you grow old , you will stretch out your hands and arms, and someone else will dress you, and carry you where you do not wish to go .”
John 21:18
A person(sinner) without yoke always wants to go wherever they want, whenever they like, and however they feel like.
There are those who broke the yoke off their neck have journeyed with God for a while.
Because God’s own yoke is light, you can decide to break free after you say yes.
” For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Mathew 11:30
Those ones still have the broken parts on their necks, which are neither useful for God or the devil. They try to fit in between.
They call Him Lord but do not the things He says.
Just like the billionaire and the son-in-law to be, many want God’s commitment without their commitment.
Glory Cannot come from sin. Grace doesn’t abound in sin.
God is Glorious in Holiness!
I told someone by the help of The Holy Spirit to stop committing sin, and she did, and within a space of a few months, The Lord opened doors of opportunities!
I hear The Lord say to someone,
Most of the things you are asking has been taken care by Him! His hands ✋️ are not short that He can not save, but your iniquity…
Sin is the legal right given to Satan to afflict and hinder you.
Take His yoke upon you today! Say yes to God!
Can I tell you this that, WHATEVER YOU CONSIDER BIGGER THAN GOD THAT SLOWS YOU DOWN FROM SAYING YES TO GOD IS WHAT WILL ANSWER YOUR PRAYER! THAT THING IS YOUR NEW GOD!
Take His yoke upon you now while you are still young. He will redirect your path back to the way of goodness and mercy, and you will find rest.
