REVELATION 17:5
And on her forehead, a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
Babylon is a full representation of the world and the world system.
The world has her own method or system of accomplishing things.
BABYLON came from the word BABEL.
At Babel, the people said,

Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves;
Babylon plays harlotry with the use of names. When Daniel and his friends were chosen in Babylon, the first thing they did was change their names.
Daniel 1:7
The chief official gave them new names: To Daniel he gave the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah , Shadrach ; to Mishael , Meshach; and to Azariah , Abednego.
What does this imply? Sin became very easy to commit because the original name God gave to sin was changed to something that doesn’t imply evil.
For example, a man who commits adultery with a woman will call it a side chick. When people steal, they call it money laundry.
Babylon alter names to make sin popular.
