TEXT: Deuteronomy 20:1, 10
” When you go out to battle against your enemies , and see horses, and chariots, and a people more than you, be not afraid of them… When you come near to a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace to it.”
Several years, the Lord opened my eyes to this strategy! Today, the Lord wants us to learn a lesson here.
The entire chapter is about warfare. God told the children of Isreal what to do whenever they faced greater enemies(problems)
God told them to bless the city first with peace! The reason was to make the city coquerable for them.
When Christ came, he said, “Love your enemies and do good to those who spitefully use you.” Mathew 5:44
After the job had been wrongfully spoken against by those whom he considered as his friends, the Lord asked him to go pray for his friends.
It was afterward that God prospered him more that he had before.
In the New Testament, the Lord reminds us of the end of the Job but not that of his friends.
” You have heard of the patience of Job, and you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is merciful and compassionate.James 5:11
The Lord teaches us to overcome evil by doing good!
