TOPIC: WHEN YOU PRAY (PART 1)
TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 14:15
“So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding;”
Praying is not just what your lips are uttering, but it is what your heart or spirit is saying.
This text tells us that praying with your spirit is the strength upon which the words of the mortal gain ascendancy into the realm of The Spirit.
I have explained this many times that, to pray in The Spirit is not just all about praying in tongues.
Just like talking doesn’t mean communication.
So, to pray with your spirit is to pray by the Spirit, whether in other tongues or in your mother tongue.
It means you are not just praying to God with your mouth ; but it is the Holy Spirit who uses your tongue to help you pray according to God’s will.
When you pray in the Spirit, it is not just what your mouth is saying but what your spirit is saying to God.
What your spirit is saying to God is what the Holy Spirit enables you to say.
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, *but the Spirit himself* intercedes for us through wordless groans.” *Romans 8:26*
This is very simple. When you tell Him to help you pray, He will indeed pray through you.
Just know that, if the one who asks you to pray is the same person who prays with you and the same person who will answer all your prayers.
