TOPIC: DON’T TOUCH ME (Message about Easter)
TEXT: JOHN 20:17
“Jesus says to her, ” Do not touch Me, for not yet have I ascended to the Father. Now go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.'”
After the RESURRECTION Christ ascended to the Father before He ever allowed anyone to touch him.
He was the Lamb of God. Now he is risen. If Christ didn’t rise from the grave, it means he was just like all other animals offered for sin of mankind.
Hebrew 10:12
‘But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins , he sat down at the right hand of God,”
If Christ didn’t rise, it means his sacrifice was not acceptable to God. The evidence of ressurection is acceptable sacrifice.
He took the blood directly to the throne of God the Father and presented to Him as the finished sacrifice.
Then, the judgment against sin was satisfied! He became the mediator between us and God through his obedience(i.e., the shedding of blood)
No new life without blood. So also, Christ gave birth to us through His blood.
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Eph4:32
Everything is now because of Christ.
When he returned after presenting his blood, he told Thomas to touch him.
The essence of everything is the shedding of blood and his resurrection.
Our life is the best thank you to Jesus for all that he did. Be grateful to God the Father for His unspeakable gift and to Christ our mediator and The Holy Spirit who wooed us unto the lively hope we now have in Christ.
Everyday, am looking forward to His appearing. Am free from the concerns of this world!
He is the Savior of our souls.
