TOPIC SUNRISE
TEXT: Gen. 32:26, 30, 31
“And He said, “ Let Me go, for the day breaks.” …So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” Just as he crossed over, the sun rose on him.”
This is one of the most intriguing stories in the Bible where the man Jacob wrestled with an angel.
One important statement we need to hold on to is what the angel said: ” …THE DAY BREAKS.”
The Angel knew the time for night ???? shift would soon be replaced with the morning shift.
So, he re-logged in Jacob for the morning shift so the angel of mercy may rise upon Jacob.
However, he left a sign(broken thigh) on Jacob to enable the angel of mercy who was to take over the shift so as to recognize Jacob
The Angel knew if there was no disability in a person, there would be no need for God to show compassion(pity or mercy)
God’s ability only functions where there is disability
Afterward, Jacob could no longer walk without rod. He had to lean on the everlasting strength. But as soon as he crossed over, the sun rose upon him.
Because God’s mercy is new every morning, the angel of mercy, like sunlight rose upon him.
Psalms 84:11 “For the LORD God is a sun and shield.”
Suddenly, the fear of Esau that made Jacob a fugitive for over 20 years was over. God became his sun and his shield ????
When Esau saw him, he couldn’t get revenge again.
When a man’s way pleases God, He even makes his enemy to be at peace with him.
Genesis 33:4
Then Esau ran to meet him and embraced him, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him. And they both wept.
When the sun rises, long-term battles are won without a fight.
When the son(sun) of righteousness rises with healings in his wings, unity replaces disunity.
When the sun rises, food is supplied to plants ????. When the sun rises, activities for the day resume. When the sun rises, you will have help.
1 Samuel 11:9
Tomorrow , by that time the sun be hot, ye shall have help
When the sun rises, energy is supplied. The solar energy system is powered by SUNRISE
When the Son(Sun) of God rises, there is hope for a whole generation lost in sin and hope is restored.
