THE PAINS IN GOD’S HEART 💜*
(JOHN CHAPTER 6)
30. So they asked him, “What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do?
31. Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat
32. Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.
33. For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
34. “Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”
35. Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life.” Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
36. But as I told you, you have seen me, and still you do not believe.
41. At this, the Jews there began to grumble about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”
52. Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
60. On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”
61. Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you?
66. From this time, many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
67. “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.
68. Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
69. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”
LESSONS:
■ These people continued to center their attention on more miracles as a prove to believe in Jesus.
■ Jesus, however, wanted them to see miracle as a link to believing he was their Savior and the God that their forefathers told them about.
■ Even some of the disciples apart from the twelve didn’t understand why Jesus used the miracle of bread multiplication as the emblem of himself.
■ They easily forget the ones he did but asked him to do more so they could believe him.
■ Many disciples left Jesus and never returned. The crowd also left except the twelve.
■ We live in momentous times when those who do not really know their God will think they do God a favor by living for Him.
■ Even some of the churches ⛪️ I see around do not seem to understand that miracle is just like a shining surface that redirects or reflects light to another destination(God). Miracles are not centered on the man or woman God used; it is supposed to draw every attention to God.
■ Let us set the record straight. Power is given by God for the people. No person was empowered by God for himself or herself.
Here is the consolation in Hebrew 8:11, 12
” for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
