GOD’S GOODNESS
(JOHN CHAPTER 6)
22. The next day the crowd that had stayed on the opposite shore of the lake realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not entered it with his disciples, but that they had gone away alone.
23. Then, some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks.
24. Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus.
25. When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”
26. Jesus answered, “ Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.
LESSONS:
■ The physical information didn’t give the people the clue how Jesus went across the sea to the other side. However, they still sought after him. Follow after God even when you don’t know how?
■ Jesus said the people followed him not because they saw the miracles that he did. Those miracles were too strange and supernatural.
If they had paused for a while and thought about the miracles, they would never doubt God’s existence.
But, the people were only responding to appetite. Whenever it was the time to eat, they remembered Jesus.
God doesn’t want us to relate with Him this way. The past miracles and goodness of God should stir our minds to think about God and His wonders.
For example,
If Jesus turned a pen 🖊 to a house 🏠, you shouldn’t follow after him because you needed a house where to live. You should rather follow him because THE GOOD GOD WHO DID THAT DESERVES TO BE IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH.
WHY? Because you will trust Him to build your life according to the original blueprint.
There are miracles God did for you and I in the past that we didn’t meditate on them enough. If we did, we wouldn’t doubt God’s promises in our present challenges.
Jesus did miracles to get our attention on God.
He did most miracles ever recorded. Still, the Bible says the world 🌎 was made by him, and still, the world did not know him.
The same brother or sister who gave a testimony years ago is the same who has now left the church thinking there is no God. People do not really think about God. They don’t allow God’s goodness to make them see who God really is.
They just receive answers as solution to their immediate appetite, and then they look for more.
Just 40 days Moses went up, they created another god with the help of Aron.
Romans 8: 38
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”
I challenge you this day to reflect upon who God has been to you and how gracious He had been to you.
