TOPIC: WHERE ARE YOUR CHILDREN?
TEXT: MALACHAI 2:14,15
Because the Lord has been witness
Between you and the wife of your youth… Yet she is your companion and your wife by covenant.
But did He not make them one,
Having a remnant of the Spirit?
And why one?
He seeks godly offspring.
The mindsets of Christians about marriage should be different from the people of the world.
When you were thinking about marrying, God was thinking about raising godly seed.
Every Christians who is married and given birth to children has responsibility given by God.
” One generation will declare your works to the next and will proclaim your mighty acts.”
Psalm 145: 4
Children were initially given by God with the primary purpose of conveying the knowledge of God to the next generation.
Isaiah 53:8
“Who shall declare His generation?”
When I listen to parents and they see their children as gifts to send around on errands or to feed them at old age, I laugh.
If that’s the ultimate purpose, then God can help you achieve that without even having any child.
The only inheritance God can get from you as parents is to give Him back children taught so much about God in such a way that they can declare it to another generation.
My dad lost his dad at a young age. Pastor J.B. Orogun(my grand uncle), who was the 4th President of Christ Apostolic Church worldwide, became like his dad.
My dad was one of the leading pastors in Deeper Life Bible church(was then Deeper Christian life ministry)
When I started growing up, I began to read ???? books(Charles Spurgeon, D.L MOODY, Charles G. Finney, John Wesley, and many more) from my dad’s shelf in his room.
Before he went to be with the Lord, he sent me a text that The Lord sent him to tell me HE ☝️WILL BE TAKING ME ON A JOURNEY.
After his death, nothing else matters to me so much apart from God.
“Children are a heritage of the Lord” ” and the fruit of the womb is His reward.”
(Psalm 127:3).
I challenge you today to start raising your children after God’s image.
Gather them and tell them the stories of God’s faithfulness.
Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up…so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors…”
Deuteronomy 11:19-21
May be you are saying ” WHAT ABOUT ME WHO IS NOT EVEN MARRY OR ME WHO DOES NOT HAVE A CHILD YET”
As the Lord lives, by this time next year, you will come with your baby. For those aspiring to marry, by this time next year, you would have been married to the bone of your bone and the flesh of your flesh.
