TOPIC: GENUINE REPENTANCE
TEXT: 2 Cor 7:10
The Lord says, “GENUINE REPENTANCE,” and so we will be digging deep into this topic.
“For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.”
Genuine repentance is a turn away from sin to God.
This is not a resolution or a regret.
Genuine Repentance is a gift of God.
2 Timothy 2:25
“in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance , so that they may know the truth,”
Repentance is not what we just switch on and off at our will.
Whenever God sees that you are so sincere to be free from sin, He grants you the gift called repentance.
This gift of repentance makes you feel sorry genuinely about the sin.
Anyone who truly desires to repent will uncover the act first or report himself or herself.
There is a fruit that God sees that makes God gives you repentance.
Mathew 3:8
“ Produce therefore fruit that is fitting of repentance .”
If a person keeps falling into the same sin and he or she keeps asking God for forgiveness, this is a sign that the person has not genuinely repented.
Proverbs 16:6
By mercy and truth iniquity is purged:
There is truth you need to accept and acknowledge about the situation before mercy can truly work.
Psalm 85:10
Mercy and truth have met together;
God can not reject a broken spirit and someone who sincerely releases himself to God.
Settle the issue about sin today and once and for all.
Bring forth the fruit meet for repentance by cutting off any relationship that keeps making you fall into the!
