“Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “ One thing you lack”
He walked up to Jesus, desiring to enjoy the peace of God.
He sincerely told Jesus the laws he had kept from his youth.
The Bible records that Jesus looked at him, loved him, and showed him what he lacked.
Love motivated Jesus to tell him what he needed to know. Love is the motivation for telling the truth.
Love reveals!
Truth not told in love is dangerous.
Do what really matters!
What is better is preferred to a thousand that is good,
Thrive to make things better!
His life would be better if he knew what he lacked and what to do to fix it.
It is evident from the story that it is possible to know many things and still not know that you don’t know.
The solution to having is making room for more.
He did everything except what he needed most.
We all need a friend to show us how to do differently what we have been doing repeatedly.
HE OPENED UP FOR HELP, BUT CLOSED HIS HEART TO THE ANSWER!
