SECRETS OF DISCIPLES (PART 2)

LUKE CHAPTER 24

6. He is not here, but He is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,

7. saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”

13. Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem.

14. And they talked together of all these things which had happened.

15. So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them.

16. But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.

17. And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?”

18. Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, *“Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?”

19. And He said to them, “What things?” So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,

20. and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death and crucified Him.

25. Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

26. Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?”

27. And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

GLEANING THE LESSONS FROM THE HIGHLIGHTED VERSES:

■This story was written concerning the event after Christ resurrected. Some visited the tomb of Jesus, and the angel redirected them to the location that Jesus scheduled to meet with them.

■You could see that even the angel did not mention the name of the person who betrayed Jesus. He simply told us those who did did the final killing. Judas made it easy for those who killed Jesus. Sometimes, God intentionally hide the names of the culprit.

■Walking 🚶‍♂️ 🚶‍♂️ for 7 miles is not easy. Conversation with God can make our Christian journey seem easy and not tiring.

■Jesus Himself drew near. Don’t involve yourself in public matters if you don’t want others to hear. A gossip says, “Don’t tell anyone that I told you.”

■Not every piece of information leads to revelation. Always ask God to open your eyes.

■Jesus asked what kind of conversation they were having. Before you join a group of friends, you need to know what kind of conversation they normally have. A rebel will probably choose a rebel as best friend because they share common grounds.

■They knew what was trending from in the city, but at close range, they missed it. When people are ‘far away’ from God, they fear and honor Him. When they start to have a sense of closeness, they get familiar and take God for granted. Didn’t Peter walk perfectly on water until he got close enough to Jesus. That was when he began to sink because he looked away. Sometimes, it is some of the matured ones in Christ who always think they can permit many things and still get away with it.

■The strength of believers should be traced to their revelation of the word of God.

■It is foolishness to think that what God is telling you can conflict with what’s written.

■Christ exposed them to where it is written about Himself. Everyone have a character they represent in the Bible.

He said to me early this morning that, for me to discern well those in my circle, I must first know characters(persons) of the person in the bible they come to represent.

Everything has been written such that someone must step into that script(scripture) and act it out. I pray none of us will act evil script.

While some ask for power, I beg God not to let me offend Him. The way He talk to me about some people we call great men makes me afraid.

When God begins to report people that I have probably not done 1% of what they have done, it makes me afraid. There are men who have betrayed God’s trust.

Early this year, He said, “look 👁 ” as He pointed 👉 a popular vocal prophet in Africa and He said to me: “I HAVE REMOVED MY ANOINTING FROM HIM…”

He told of another, He said, “I HAVE REMOVED HIM FROM OFFICE OF A PROPHET AND PLACED HIM INTO OFFICE OF A PASTOR.” Then, I noticed the controversies about the man on the media stopped. Now, he is pastoring well to the best of my knowledge.

It might look exciting the stories I just shared but that even got me scared the more. I was afraid of ministry and why God chose to use some of us who are not close to perfection.

Each time I looked at the prophet God talked to me about, his followers and his prophecies, hmm… i was no longer thinking about how accurate his prophesies are or how well he preaches, I remember what God said and i get scared about God.

Ask Eli. Ask Moses and I will tell you, fear God.

Don’t just reverence God, be afraid of Him who can kill both the body and soul in hell.

All we say is LORD HAVE MERCY. 👏
