SIN OF IMPATIENCE
EXODUS 32
” When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him…. He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf…. he built an altar in front of the calf and announced, “Tomorrow there will be a festival to the Lord.”
Moses was up the mountain to receive law on behalf of the people.
The people set alarm ⏰️ for God.
Then, they began a project to create a god they could control the way they wanted.
The time they spent was so fast that the god was ready even before Moses came down. The time spent to make these gods was so fast as if they just cooked rice.
Philippians 3:19 “their god is their stomach”
Watch out for those who make gods out of impatience.
Exodus 115:8
Those who make them have become just like them have become just like the gods they trust.
Everyone who creates idol out impatience becomes lifeless, just like the idols.
1 John 5:21 warns ⚠️ us
Little children, keep yourselves from idols
