TOPIC: “DO YOU GOSSIP?”
TEXT: PROVERBS 6:16-19
“These six things the LORD hates;
Indeed, seven are repulsive to Him:
A proud look [the attitude that makes one overestimate oneself and discount others], a lying tongue,
And hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that creates wicked plans,
Feet that run swiftly to evil,
A false witness who breathes out lies [even half-truths],
????????????????????????????
And one who spreads discord (rumors) among brothers.”
The Lord asked a serious question from everyone today:
“DO YOU GOSSIP?”
This question I leave with you!
A talebearer is probably the most dangerous person in any society.
The damage done by them sometimes can not be rectified in 100 years.
A talebearer gives no room for you to personally discover who a person is.
He or she dent in your mind, the image of an individual who has never done you wrong.
After listening to a talebearer, you develop a false identity and hate the person you have not even spoken to or met.
Sometimes, a talebearer helps you make up your mind against your destiny helper.
Such dent is difficult to erase in the mind of the hearer even when the talebearer or whisperer is no longer alive.
A talebearer is a major instrument in the hand of lucifer for accomplishing disunity and suspicion in churches or any organization.
Gossip corrupts both the speaker and hearer.
The Lord asked me to ask:
“DO YOU GOSSIP?”
This is a question everyone must answer and repent lest we make The God we call upon our own very enemy.
You find this amongst Christians, pastors, leaders of organizations, siblings, choiristers, and many others
Let each person consider his or her ways.
